This fork builds on the original DSSAT wrapper work associated with the AgMIP Calibration Phase III effort.
The original wrapper header credits:

This fork extends that base with:
- a registry-driven omniwrapper
- support for additional DSSAT model families
- alternate-engine launching
- broader validation scripts
- hostable public documentation
Why attribution is kept visible
This repository is not presented as a disconnected rewrite.
It is a continuation and extension of earlier wrapper work, so preserving that lineage is part of being technically honest and community-friendly.
License note
At the time of writing, the checked upstream wrapper snapshot used for this fork
does not include an explicit LICENSE file.
Because of that, this documentation does not invent license terms on behalf of the upstream project. Users should check the current upstream repository state for any later license clarification before redistributing code more broadly.
The DSSAT model source and data repositories are separate from this wrapper repository and may have their own licensing terms.
